You Do Not Need More Advice. You Need Someone Who Understands.
Sam Tate
I did not plan to become a coach. I planned to make money, build security, and tick all the boxes that define success. And for a long time, that is exactly what I did.
I spent twenty years in financial services. I co-founded New World Financial Group and built it into something I was proud of. I understood money, investments, risk, and what keeps business owners awake at three in the morning.
But somewhere along the way, I realised that financial planning was not really about numbers. It was about fear, identity, control, and meaning. People were not struggling with spreadsheets. They were struggling with themselves. That insight became The Conscious Currency®, my work on money psychology. It started as a book and has since become a methodology used inside financial planning firms to help people create a more intentional relationship with money.
But even that was not enough. Because money stress does not exist in isolation. It is tangled up with work stress, relationship tension, questions of purpose, health, and identity. Addressing one part without looking at the whole is like treating symptoms while ignoring the illness.
So I trained. I studied. I rebuilt my own life, addressing my relationship with health and time, learning to work with my neurodivergence, redefining what success meant to me. And I became a coach who works across the whole picture, because it is the only way to make real change last. That approach became Ripple Out: small changes at the centre create profound effects everywhere else.
What I Bring
Experience in business and finance
I understand P&Ls, cash flow, growth strategy, and the weight of leadership. I have lived the pressure of running a business and the complexity of selling one.
Insight into money psychology
Through The Conscious Currency®, I have spent years helping people understand the emotional, psychological, and relational dimensions of money. I know how to have the conversations most people avoid.
Lived experience of rebuilding
I am in long-term sobriety. I am neurodivergent. I have rebuilt my life from the ground up more than once. I do not coach from a manual. I coach from hard-won understanding of what it takes to change and what it costs to stay the same.
Qualified and trained
I am a certified insight coach and qualified meditation coach. I integrate movement and mindfulness into my work when it serves the client. I bring structure, rigour, and presence.
A grounded, reflective style
No hype. No vision boards. No motivational theatre. I help people see clearly, choose consciously, and act with confidence. The work is calm, direct, and rooted in what is actually happening rather than what sounds good.
How I Work
I work with professionals, business owners, and people at crossroads. They come to me when success feels hollow and they cannot identify why. When money stress is bleeding into everything else. When work and life have become indistinguishable and neither feels right. When they are facing a decision they cannot make alone, or carrying patterns they can see but cannot seem to break.
My coaching covers the whole picture: your work, your relationships, your health, your money, your purpose, your time, your sense of self. I do not work from packages or preset programmes. Every engagement is built around you, starting with a Discovery Session of 90 minutes, and from there we design something that fits.
It might be three months, six months, or a year. It might involve weekly calls or fortnightly deep sessions. It always involves honesty, accountability, and practical action. Learn more about coaching.
My Philosophy
I coach from having done this work myself, from knowing what it takes to strip everything back and rebuild. I know what it is like to be successful and still feel lost. To have money and no sense of what enough means. To lead others whilst lacking direction yourself.
I understand what it is like to be neurodivergent in a world designed for neurotypical brains. To need flexibility rather than rigidity. To work with your actual mind rather than constantly fighting it.
Your path will not look exactly like mine. But if you have ever wondered whether success can feel lighter, freer, and more like yours, I know how to help you find that.
"Sam helped me see patterns I had been blind to for years. The perspective I gained in our first session alone was worth the investment."
Current client, 10/10 recommendation
"I came to Sam with a business question. I left with a completely different understanding of what I actually wanted from life."
Business owner, 47, father of two
"Working with Sam was not comfortable. But it was the most valuable thing I have done for myself in a decade."
Male, 42, business owner
"I had never really engaged with coaching before. What stood out was Sam's ability to guide conversations in a way that felt completely natural. There was always direction, but he never imposed his own agenda. It felt collaborative. Above all, Sam is an exceptional listener. He is empathetic, non-judgemental, and created an environment where I felt completely safe."

Next Step
If You Have Read This Far
Something here is resonating. The next step is a Discovery Session: 90 minutes where we cut through the noise and explore what is really going on. You will leave with perspective and a sense of direction, whether we work together or not.
